We are Package Free
Package Free was founded by Lauren Singer after her personal zero-waste journey captured global attention. Through viral blog posts, YouTube videos, and social media, Lauren documented how she fit all of her non-compostable, non-recyclable waste into a single 16-ounce mason jar.
The story resonated with millions of people looking for practical ways to live more sustainably. Package Free was created from that momentum — offering thoughtfully designed everyday products that help people reduce waste without sacrificing convenience or performance.
As the brand grew and expanded into wholesale retail, packaging became one of our biggest challenges. Some solutions were straightforward, like launching cleaning sprays in aluminum bottles instead of plastic. Others were more complex — including our best-selling laundry detergent, originally packed in glass jars that were heavy, expensive to ship, and prone to breaking.
As demand grew, we evolved our proven formula into the world’s first plastic-free laundry pod, made from water-soluble wood pulp and cellulose paper with a bio-based adhesive — offering a new alternative in a category dominated by pods made with PVOH.
Looking ahead, we remain focused on disrupting the “big laundry” industry with products that stay true to our values while delivering real performance at competitive prices. Thank you for being part of the journey — your support allows us to keep innovating and building products that are better for people and the planet. 🌎
